The Captives were the precursor to Admiral Ackbar's Dishonourable Discharge. Originally formed by Toffer and eventually joined by Sexworth, they set about recording this album which never made it to release due to the band ceasing.
Toff and Sexworth went on to form AADD from the ashes of the Captives, taking the material Toff had written and with the help of the newly recruited first version of AADD, reworked a lot of the material to suit the new format of the band.

A lot of the songs on this album are still in regular rotation in AADD sets.
